Office Update and Jarvis Standing Desk Review

January 24, 2018

I'm so thankful for the work that came my way in 2017!

Because of it, I was finally able to update my workspace and add some things that will help me to work more my new Fully standing desk, which I LOVE!!  I had been doing my research for months and based on their wicked good ratings, settled on the Jarvis by Fully.

The Jarvis is customizable with a variety of configurations and materials options, even reclaimed wood.  In the end, I went with an extended range black frame (I'm a tall drink of water!), and the bamboo 60" x 30" rectangular top with the programmable memory option.  I love the adjustable presets which allow me to easily and quickly modify my desk's height to my most comfortable settings.  The rising and lowering action is SMOOOOTH.  I'm intentional about treating my things nicely (especially when they're an investment), and unlike some other desks I researched, my Jarvis is stable and steady no matter what position it's in...for how I use it.  I will say that due to the nature of the frame, if you're hard on your furniture, you probably won't be happy with a standing desk.

After watching a few Youtube videos I also went with the standard size Topo Mat, and I'm glad I did!  It was an impulse buy, but I love how I'm able to use it to stretch my legs while I'm using the desk in standing mode.  It even has a raised ball area in the middle that's great for giving your feet a quick massage :).  With all the hours I spend in front of my monitor, this desk will help my back so much, and all the stretching is an added bonus.

One final bit of input - this desk was SUPER easy to assemble and hubby had it up and ready in about 30 minutes!

Here are a couple quick snaps...don't judge on the messy cables!  Cable management is on the seemingly never-ending 'To Do' list.

Organization was next on my wish list and I spent months trying to find the perfect bookshelves for my small space.  Wayfair, Pottery Barn, Overstock, you name it, I googled it - but no luck.  Finally, I tried an unfinished furniture store in Issaquah and found a couple pieces that fit.  The owner, Frank, was a pleasure to work with and so helpful.  I have one more piece to order in the future...a new filing cabinet to match the second bookcase.  In the end, I'm happy I was able to support a local business :)

Like my rock salt lamp? I'll be getting the filing cabinet to match this piece...can't recommend Frank enough!

Finally, a few little special touches to really make the space mine.  Have you seen Chip and Joanna Gaines' new Home / Office decor line called Hearth and Hand?  It's exclusive to Target and it's stylish and QUALITY!

Candle by Hearth and Hand With Magnolia I've got a thing about decorative doorstops Usually I don't like gold, but all the gold accents in my office started because of this piece I bought last year :) A nod to my Southern roots...pineapples are a symbol of hospitality Organizational basket by Hearth and Hand With Magnolia I've only had shears up to now, but it makes editing impossible when it's too bright. Should've bought these darker panels a long time ago! Gold tone accents from Target Boxes to hide things away - more Hearth and Hand With Magnolia
